NBA guard Bogdan Bogdanovic has floated a bold idea to curb flops in basketball: adopt a red card penalty similar to soccer’s.

The veteran sharpshooter argued that players who exaggerate contact for an unfair edge should face immediate consequences following a video review. “I think it’s time for a red card in basketball. If you flop to get an advantage on a play, play gets reviewed, instant red card,” Bogdanovic said.
He believes a clear, automatic penalty would deter the act and clean up the game, drawing a direct line from soccer’s disciplinary system to basketball’s ongoing flopping issue.
