Ricky Stenhouse Jr. has signed a multi-year contract extension with Hyak Motorsports, securing his place behind the wheel of the No. 47 Chevrolet for the foreseeable future.

The 2023 Daytona 500 champion has committed to remaining with the organization, which has been his home since 2020 when it operated as JTG Daugherty Racing before rebranding to Hyak Motorsports ahead of the 2025 season.

“Ricky has been an integral part of what we’re building at Hyak Motorsports, and we’re excited to continue this journey together,” said team owner Gordon Smith. “He brings experience, leadership, and a competitive fire every weekend. We believe there’s plenty more ahead for this team with Ricky in the No. 47.”
Stenhouse has amassed nearly 500 starts and four wins in the NASCAR Cup Series, all on superspeedways. The two-time NASCAR Xfinity Series champion began his Cup career with RFK Racing before joining the No. 47 team.

“I’m really happy to finally get this extension done—it’s been in the works for a while, and I’m grateful to everyone at Hyak Motorsports, especially Gordon,” Stenhouse said. “His vision for this team and the passion he brings every day is special. A lot of people may not know Gordon well yet, but he truly cares about motorsports, NASCAR, and this No. 47 team, and that shows in everything he does. Along with Gordon, Brad, Mark, Ernie, and the entire Hyak Motorsports crew, I feel like we’re improving week after week. It’s never easy being a single-car team, but the experience and knowledge we’re gaining are helping us get stronger. More than anything, this team feels like one big family. On and off the track, we’re building something that makes me really excited about the future of Hyak Motorsports and what we can achieve together.”
Hyak Motorsports remains one of the few full-time single-car operations in NASCAR, joining Haas Factory Team, Rick Ware Racing, and Wood Brothers Racing (the latter of which has a close technical alliance with Team Penske).
Stenhouse currently sits 27th in the Cup Series standings. His best result this season came in the opener, where he finished second in the 68th running of the Daytona 500.
