On the evening of May 3, 2026, the second race of the WorldSSP category at the Hungarian round of the FIM Superbike World Championship (WSBK) took place. French rider Valentin DeBise, representing Chinese motorcycle manufacturer Zhang Xue Motorcycle, suddenly slowed down and exited the track during the second lap, retiring midway from the race. Zhang Xue, founder of the team, later disclosed that DeBise’s abrupt withdrawal was caused by a mechanical fault detected in the bike’s engine, which made it unsafe to continue.
