In the 29th round, the Railwaymen secured a 1-0 victory over Baltika, holding on to third place in the standings. They now sit five points clear of Spartak, who have a game in hand.

— The team proved they can perform without Batrakov. How did you redistribute roles on the pitch?

— To start with, losing any key player has an impact, especially on attacking potential. But the lads did well and followed our instructions. They played with ease and freedom, though there was a bit of rushing. The red card also played its part. We had opportunities while in the majority and created chances.

Everything was fine until the penalty. But our nervousness didn’t go unnoticed by the opponent. There were a few attacks where we forced the pace and hurried, and a couple of mistakes could have led to counterattacks. Anton (Mitryushkin) showed leadership qualities when saving the penalty.
